Invisible Braces and Invisalign

Dental-Braces-Harris-Boutique-Dental

Traditionally, adults were quite resistant to having orthodontics done. This was partly because of the appearance and also the fact that most orthodontic offices are geared toward children. Nowadays, we offer a gentle straightening system that is kind to your mouth and doesn’t stand out like the more traditional, ugly metal braces. There are two products on the market which we recommend: Invisible Braces and Invisalign.

Invisible Braces

What are Invisible Braces?

This gentle straightening system utilises a tooth coloured band to gently straighten and align your teeth. It is kind to your mouth and doesn’t stand out like the more traditional ugly metal braces.

How Long Do I Have to Wear Them?

Most people wear these types of braces for about six months. The shortest we have been able to straighten someone’s teeth is four months and longest has taken nine months.

What Is the Difference Between Invisible Braces and Traditional Braces?

You can see by looking at these pictures that invisible braces are hard to see, particularly if you don’t know the person has them. Many of our patients say that their friends and family didn’t notice they were wearing braces straight away.

Do Invisible Braces Really Work for Adults?

Most people think that braces are mainly for kids and take two to four years. Not anymore! Dr Harris can straighten your teeth in an average time of six months. ‘Invisible Braces’ is an easy and affordable way to greatly improve your smile, leaving the embarrassment of crooked and spaced teeth in the past.

Invisalign

What is Invisalign?

By using a series of clear, removable aligners, Invisalign straightens your teeth with results you’ll notice sooner than you think. The course of treatment involves changing aligners approximately every two weeks, moving your teeth into straighter position step by step, until you have a more beautiful smile.

How Long Does Invisalign Take?

An average Invisalign course of treatment takes about a year. You’ll see Dr Harris every six to eight weeks for adjustments and to check progress. At regular intervals, you’ll receive a new set of custom-molded clear aligners to continue the straightening process.

What Does Invisalign Look and Feel Like?

Since Invisalign is practically invisible, there’s no unwarranted attention to your mouth. In fact, very few people will notice at all. They’re comfortable to wear and remove easily when you eat, brush, and floss.
