Bad Breath

Do you suffer from bad breath?

Bad breath is generally caused by poor oral hygiene or dental infections in your mouth.  Other conditions that may also cause you to have bad breath include:

  • Some foods
  • Dry mouth
  • Respiratory tract infections
  • Systemic diseases such as diabetes, kidney, liver and lung disease
  • Gastrointestinal issues like acid reflux and other stomach digestion problems.

Dr Linc and the entire team at Harris Dental Boutique in Bargara understand that having bad breath can be embarrassing.  You can rest assured that we make every effort to never judge you. You will never be treated badly or made to feel dirty if you have bad breath.

Dr Linc shares the symptoms of bad breath and how you can prevent it:

What are the symptoms?

It can be difficult to assess how your own breath smells.  Some people worry they have bad breath but do not and others have bad breath and don’t even know it. The cause may be poor oral hygiene, which results in a build up of dental plaque, leading to dental decay and cavities, food build up, and development of unhealthy gums leading to gingivitis.

How can you prevent it?

The best way to prevent bad breath is to brush your teeth twice a day, and floss your teeth and brush your tongue once a day to control the development of dental plaque. If these simple hygiene techniques do not solve the problem of bad breath, you may need to see Dr Linc to investigate other causes.

Dr Linc is available at Harris Dental Boutique Bargara dental practice near Bundaberg, Monday to Friday at Shop 2/16 See Street Bargara Q 4670.
